Stetson University Recycling Program
Never before in the history of Stetson University has so much emphasis been put on environmental stewardship. Perhaps the most visible manifestation of this commitment is our vibrant, campus-wide recycling program ledy by Recycling Coordinator Donna Loftus
Anyone strolling through campus will be exposed to "Stetson Recycles" signs, recycling update boards, recycling bins and 100% building participation, all of which serve to keep the issue at the forefront of our campus conscience.
The goal of Stetson's recycling program is simple: to divert as much material from the landfill as possible.
It is our sincere aspiration to maintain a recycling program that assimilates the desires and interests of the campus community into a system that consistently outperforms the previous year.
What We Recycle:
- Clean plastic with the number 1, 2 or 3 on the bottom
- Clean aluminum cans
- White office paper, cardboard, envelopes, notecards, notebook paper.
- All Ink jet cartridges with Advantage Cartridge
- All E-Waste (Electronics) being recycled with Certificate of Destruction, or being sold for re-use with Southeastern Data
Where to Recycle on Campus:
- Most living spaces, office spaces and common areas have recycling bins. Please use the recycling containers available in the Commons Area to collect recyclables. When full, simply deposit the material in an appropriate bin in or around your building.
- Deposit your plastic in front of the Library, inside the Coffee Kiosk, on the patio of the Hat Rack, in front of the Hollis Center, inside the Edmunds Center and on the back dock of Sage Hall.
