Current topics:

Q: What are HatterBucks and how do I use them?

A: HatterBucks are the meal plan equivalent of cash. You use them instead of cash for a la carte items at the Commons, the Hat Rack, Coffee Shoppe, Papa John's, and Domino's Pizza. One HatterBuck equals one U.S. dollar. To use HatterBucks, you merely say you wish to pay with HatterBucks and present your student ID card. The cashier will run your ID card through the computer and the Hatterbucks are automatically deducted from you account.

Q: What is a meal?

A: Instead of using HatterBucks to purchase items a la carte at the Commons, you can choose to use a meal selection to buy a complete meal. The meal consists of one entree, four sides, a fountain beverage, and roll. Entrees are the main course offerings, a deli sandwich, pizza (2 slices), or salad bar. Sides are dishes such as french fries, vegetables, soup, or a bowl of salad. Many sides can be used as entrees (such as pasta or salads) by getting an entree-sized quantity. You only have a certain number of meals per week, and if you use them all you have to use HatterBucks.

Q: What if I use all of my HatterBucks during a semester?

A: If you need to purchase more HatterBucks, you can do so by going to the Hatter Card/MealPlan Office, located in the Commons. You can purchase in increments of $50 or more. The additional cost may be charged to your student account until the add/drop date in each semester. After this date you may pay by cash, check, or with a major credit card.

Q: What is a breakfast buffet?

A: One specified serving size of breakfast meat and a serving of each side item on the breakfast serving line, plus a drink and breakfast pastry.

Q: How do cash & HatterBucks work for breakfast?

A: When cash & HatterBucks are used, each item is charged a la carte for its specific price and serving size listed above.
