Stetson students are intelligent, multi-faceted, and connected with the world. The number of hours volunteered by already hardworking students is an example of how they also understand our society and its needs. Their passion for community service and outreach is exceptional. Stetson students want to leave a legacy and make a difference in someone else’s life by doing what they can when they can. The following is an example of students making a lasting impact in the life of Stetson!

Senior Class Gift

Last year, the Senior Gift Committee polled the class of 2008 to determine the best use of their Senior Class Gift. They overwhelmingly elected to establish a permanent, endowed scholarship fund with a goal of raising $25,000 by their five year reunion in 2013. Once it is fully funded, the Class of 2008 Scholarship will provide funds that will help future Stetson University students in perpetuity. So far $2,554 in gifts and pledges has been received. All members of the Class of 2008 are encouraged to forgo a cup of coffee one day a month and send that money to Stetson for the Class of 2008 Scholarship Fund. This will be a great way to help reach that $25,000 goal. This idea to “pay it forward” is a perfect example of the philanthropic mindset of the Class of 2008, and is something that they hoped to instill in future generations of Stetson students.
