Site Plan

An impressive "stand alone" building,
Mary B. McMahan Hall is designed to eventually
join with a new music performance hall. In the
meantime, it will provide much-needed
rehearsal and teaching space.

Richard and Mary
"Dinky" McMahan

The McMahans have been actively involved in Stetson University for many years. They have supported a variety of programs at Stetson, including the Richard and Mary McMahan Challenger Scholarship.

An investor and developer, McMahan said he wanted the gift to honor his wife and to say "thank you" to former Music Dean Jim Woodward and President Doug and First Lady Margaret Lee.

Dinky is currently a member of the School of Music Board of Advisors, and Dick serves on the university's Board of Trustees. In 1992, they received the Doyle E. Carlton Award for extraordinary contributions to the life and development of Stetson University.

"We love music, and Stetson is a major force in the DeLand community - culturally, socially, economically and politically," McMahan said. "This will be a beautiful little building, right in the heart of campus, and I'm proud to honor my wife
in this way."
