
Schedule
Leadership West Volusia is a twelve-week program beginning in February and ending in May. Sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis, and usually occur in the morning. The program opens with an orientation reception and is then followed by an out-of-town weekend retreat devoted to personal leadership development. Classes meet at various locations around western Volusia County with on-site visits to many of the areas being studied. Examples of topics include the following:
- History and development of the area
- The criminal justice system
- Local and state government
- The educational system
- Leadership development
- Health care
- Economic development
- Current and projected issues
Leadership West Volusia will conclude with a graduation and recognition ceremony on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
