Having a baby is an opportunity for a new beginning. However, research shows that approximately two-thirds of couples experience a significant drop in their relational quality and will have a dramatic increase in conflict and hostility within three years after the birth of their baby. Bringing Baby Home is a research-based and research-tested two-day couples workshop that has been shown to protect against this trend and to strengthen the couple's emotional connection that is the foundation for their child's development.
The Bringing Baby Home Workshop
The workshop is facilitated by Meghan Walter, Ph.D., a member of the Stetson University faculty and a certified Gottman Educator. The workshop's goals are to:
- Teach couples how to maintain relationship satisfaction after having a baby
- Help couples reduce relationship hostility and increase affection
- Promote positive parent-baby interactions and quality involvement for both parents
- Reduce the incidence or severity of postpartum mood disorders
The cost for the two-day workshop is $199 per couple; this cost includes materials.
Registration is available online.
