Get Connected with Professional Associations

Getting involved with professional associations in your area of interest is a great way to:

• become informed about resources in a particular career field
• search job posting boards (many prof. associations have their own, well-developed job posting boards online)
• get connected with people in the profession
• understand current issues in your career

There are a few different ways to find which professional associations are affiliated with your area of interest/career field:

1. Visit the Occupational Outlook Handbook, search for a specific job title, then scroll all the way to the bottom or click on SOURCES OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
2. Check the Google Directory of Professional Associations
3. Check the Yahoo Directory of Professional/Business Associations
