Fall 2013 Programming
The following programs are valuable ways to engage with professionals from business, industry, government, and non-profit organizations to gain knowledge and guide your career decision making. Please email career@stetson.edu or call 386-822-7315 if you anticipate any barriers to your access, participation, transportation to, or inclusion in these events.
Employer Office Hours
Throughout the school year, visiting professionals will hold office hours on campus in several academic departments. Through individual meetings with a visiting professional, participating students will have the opportunity to learn more about a profession, receive career-related advice, and reflect on the ways in which their liberal arts education can prepare them for lives of significance after Stetson.
Employer Site Visits
Join staff from the office of Career Development and Academic Advising and travel to a local company to learn more about the organization and its fit with your academic and career interests. The two hour visits, scheduled for the Thursday and Friday of fall break, will provide you an opportunity to gather general knowledge about the specific company/organization and the opportunity to interact and network with staff.
Job Shadowing
Job Shadowing - Offered over the winter break, the job shadowing program provides one-day shadowing experiences in which Stetson students shadow alumni or parent volunteers as they go about their day's work. Through observation and conversation, participating students have the opportunity to learn more about a profession, receive career-related advice, and reflect on the ways in which their liberal arts education can prepare them for lives of significance after Stetson.
