PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION REGARDING THE STUDENT INSURANCE PLAN, INCLUDING CAMPUS PROCESSES AND REQUIREMENTS, ONLY APPLIES TO THE 2011-2012 ACADEMIC YEAR AND INSURANCE DATES FROM AUGUST 12, 2011 THRU AUGUST 11, 2012.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE STUDENT INSURANCE PLAN AND PROCESSES FOR THE 2012-2013 ACADEMIC YEAR, WHICH WILL BEGIN IN FALL 2012, SHALL BE AVAILABLE AND POSTED BY JULY 2012.

As with most colleges, all students enrolled at Stetson University are expected to have adequate health insurance to cover them while attending the university. In an effort to make affordable coverage available to those who may not have any insurance, or those who have limited insurance, a campus student accident and sickness health plan has been developed to provide quality health care to Stetson students at a reasonable cost.

International students and students who are full-time undergraduates taking 9 credit hours or more, who will not have any health/medical insurance coverage in place for the 2011-2012 academic year, will be required to enroll in the Campus Student Insurance Plan.

 

Academic Year 2011-2012

CAMPUS STUDENT INSURANCE PROCESS

Process for students who already have medical/health insurance: 

Students who will have insurance coverage in place for the 2011-2012 academic year, and whose plan will provide adequate medical coverage in the Central Florida area while attending Stetson, will not be required to purchase the Campus Student Insurance Plan.  If you will have your own coverage; please make sure you have entered in your insurance information in the online Health History Form. There is no "Opt-out" form to complete. If you have not yet completed a Health History Form, this can be done here.

Process for students who do not have any health or medical insurance:

International students and students who are full-time undergraduates taking 9 credit hours or more, who will not have any other medical insurance coverage in place for the 2011-2012 academic year that covers them in the Stetson/Central Florida area, will be required to enroll in the Campus Student Insurance Plan by completing the one-page Insurance enrollment form at the following Website:

 Student Personal Property Insurance Coverage

  • Reasonable coverage just for college students.
  • Includes accidental damage, theft, hurricane, flood, fire, lightning surge, etc.  
  • Student Plan is primary over parent's homeowners, which often have high deductibles.
  • Protect your computer, cell phone, and other electronics and valuables for less than $100 for a year's coverage and deductibles as low as $25.  
  • Coverage is available to students living on-campus and off-campus.  
  • Coverage applies while gone on breaks and traveling abroad.  
  • Coverage extends to bikes, jewelry and musical instruments up to $2,000.
