How can my team rescheudle a game? To reschedule a game your team captain needs to completely fill out a reschedule request form 24 hours inadvance. This means that they need to fill out their contact information, get the opposing teams contact information and signature willing to reschedule the game, and also find a suitable/available time to play the game as well as get a coordinators signature approving the reschedule. Reschedules not completely filled out and turned in will not receive a reschedule. **Note that each team is allowed one reschedule per sport unless notified at the captains meeting of no reschedules for the sport. Games cannot be rescheduled to another time slot within the same week unless given special permission due to short season. Captains are urged to look over the complete schedule as soon as it is released and to also correctly fill in the availibility on the Sign-up forms. |

How can my team defualt a game? To default a game your team captain needs to completely fill out a defualt request form by 2:00 pm the day of the game. To do this they must complete their contact information in the form and also have an approving coordinator sign off on the default by 2:00 pm. If the form is not completely done by 2:00 pm the game will remain and the teams will be forced to play. |
What happens if we dont attend a captains meeting? If you have turned in a roster and cannot make the captains meeting excuses can be granted but the coordinators need advance notice to grant permission. If you fail to have someone at the mandatory captains meetings then your team will lose their default. This means that your teams first game in the season will be defaulted automatically. Reasoning for this is that captains are held accountable for all of the knowledge given out and any changes made during the captains meeting to the rules. It is crucial for teams to have representation and knowledge of the information given out at these meetings. |
What happens if we dont have a referee at a clinic? If your team does not have a referee attend one of the referee clinics either of two things will occur. If your team attended the captains meeting, but not the referee clinic then you will loose your default. Again this means that you team will default the first game of the season. Or if your team did not attend both the captains meeting and the referee clinic then your team will not only default their first game, but also forfiet their second game. Again the reasoning for this is the importance of having a team official and them coming to the neccessary meetings to get them trained and ready for the upcoming sport. |

What are the responsibilities of being a captain? The responsibilities of being captain are to be not only the leader but also the team representative to the IM Department. Team Captains are required to attend an informational meeting prior to all sports the team wishes to participate in and also check-in their team at game-time. During play the captain is the teams representative for any protests and also the only player on the team that should/is allowed to converse with the officials. Captains are also responsible to notify their teams of any cancellation in games and also hand reschedule and default requests. Any other questions can be addressed in the Captains Guide. |

What happens if I am ejected from a game? If you are ejected from an intramural game or event you must immediately remove yourself from the field or site of the intramural game/event. You will recieve from the IM staff an ejection notice of the type of ejection you recieved. Within 48 hours you will recieve an email requestinga meeting with the Director of Campus Recreation to discuss your ejection and give you your suspension. If ejected from a game you are an ineligable player until you meet and are given your suspension. If you are caught trying to play or playing in an intramural game before your reinstatement your team will forfiet the game you played in. |
What does forfieting a game really mean? If your team forfiets a game they will become ineligable for the end of season tournament that is held if it is your first forfiet for that sport. If it is your second forfiet for that sport you will be automatically removed from the season and forfiet the remainder of your games. Also, if a team forfiets in regular season play or in the tournament that team will receive only 1/2 of the points they earned for both their Greek/Indepenent and Stetson Cup. |
What does defaulting a game really mean? If your team defaults a game correctly, then your team takes a loss for the game and will not be penalized other than taking a loss for the game. Your team will still be eligable for the end of season tournament. |
How do I work for the Intramural Department? People interested in working for the Intramural Department should view the Job Opportunities page and see the different positions available and apply within. |
What should I do as Captain when I show up to my game? You should plan to arrive about five minutes prior to the game start. Meet with the supervisor and check-in your players that are playing. Also, be ready for the captains meeting so that the game can start on-time and play start. With the captains meeting possesion or side will be chosen and any questions regarding the game can be answered then. |
What is/How do you protest a call? During play if there is not a rule interpretation, but a ruling you believe is incorrect you can call time and protest the call to the supervisor. Protests can only be made on non-judgement rulings and must be made immediately after the call is made. The game will stop until the protest is addressed.(An example would be protesting that in Flag Football a false-start is a 5yrd penatly not a 10yrd penatly.) |
