Current Point Standings

Stetson IM All-Sports Points(4/16/09)

(Stetson Cup, President's Cup, Christensen Cup, Hollis Cup, Hick Trophy)

Campus organizations and any other groups (Res Life halls, friends, ???) are encouraged to form intramural teams and play together throughout the year in all intramural sports to compete for the respective All-Sports Championships. Teams must keep the same name, have a consistent core group of players for all sports, and register their group with the IM Office to be counted in the Points race.

Standings are kept and trophies awarded in six categories:

Independent Women Hick Trophy

Independent Men Hollis Cup

Greek Women Christensen Cup

Greek Men President's Cup

Overall Women Stetson Cup

Overall Men Stetson Cup

For the individual Independent and Greek Championships, points are awarded based on the results (league standings or tournament finish) of competition against only those teams in the group. For the All-University Championships, points are awarded based on the results of the campus wide tournaments.

Examples:

1. Sports with complete round-robin scheduling, followed by all-campus tournament:

- Greek and Independent points determined by results of games played in round- robin against teams from own division, only.

- Playoff Bonus Points: Greek and Independent bonus points will be awarded to teams that finish in the top four in the all-campus tournament in the five Level I Sports.

- Stetson Cup points determined by order of finish in all-campus tournament with all teams seated in cross-over bracket based on division standings.

2. Sports with a modified pool play format, followed by teams advancing to playoff:

-Brackets will be set up (when possible) to have the Greek and Independent teams to play separately to determine individual group champions followed by a campus championship game.

3. Sports in which all teams compete individually against all other teams:

- Separate standings will be kept for Greeks and Independents for their points and overall results used for the Stetson Cup points.

Sports are divided into three (3) levels, based on a combination of length of season, team size, traditional importance, and historical interest, with descending point values assigned to each level. (Levels for sports will be subject to review at the end of each year.)

In the Independent competition there must be at least three (3) teams organized and competing for the championships for the cups to be awarded and at least two (2) teams must compete in a sport for the points in that sport to be counted.

In the Greek competition at least ½ of the eligible teams (3 in '09-'10) must compete in a sport for it to count for points.

If a sport is not counted for points in at least one of the groups by gender, because of lack of competing teams, the sport will not be counted in the Stetson Cup standings.
