25 Ways to get Involved

images/CUB.jpgThe following is a list of 25 ways you can remain active with University life and be a part of the Stetson experience long after graduation. Take a look, browse the website, and join the other alumni who are working to make a positive difference for the Stetson community!

  1. Help recruit future Hatters and encourage a prospective student to visit campus.

  2. Encourage friends and classmates to attend Homecoming and their class reunions.

  3. Hire Stetson University graduates or offer a student an internship.

  4. Mentor current students.

  5. Participate in the Alumni Career Networking Database.

  6. Support Stetson University athletics. Attend and cheer loudly at games!

  7. Make an annual gift. Every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference.

  8. Attend a Stetson University event in your area, and take a fellow Hatter with you.

  9. Host an event. (Events include student receptions and alumni gatherings.)

  10. Act as an ambassador and share your love of Stetson University.

  11. Stay educated about Stetson University; share what you know with others.

  12. Get a Stetson Email account, and join the Alumni Email Directory.

  13. Visit campus.

  14. Wear Stetson University clothing and display something "Stetson" at work.

  15. Volunteer to meet with high school guidance counselors or work a college fair.

  16. Make sure we have your email address so that you can receive our electronic newsletter, H@tMail (update your records using Hatternet)

  17. Help the Alumni Office locate "lost" alumni. Encourage alumni to keep contact records up to date.

  18. Identify potential University donors for scholarships, endowments, and naming opportunities.

  19. Write a letter of recommendation for a student applying to Stetson University.

  20. Identify future leaders for the Alumni Board and other volunteer boards.

  21. Attend and actively promote Stetson University activities.

  22. Remember Stetson University in your will and estate plan.

  23. Read the Stetson University magazine, and share it with a friend when finished.

  24. Contact a former professor and say thanks for his/her teaching and mentoring.

  25. Drive with Pride by buying a Stetson University specialty license plate.
