Hello, friends! On behalf of the Stetson ROTC Alumni Reunion Committee (of 3), we invite you to attend the First Stetson ROTC Alumni Reunion. The Reunion is November 8-10, 2013 (Stetson Homecoming Weekend). Stetson ROTC alumni from all years and alumni who participated but may not have been commissioned are welcome. We hope you will join us!
We are planning events that will integrate into the larger Stetson Homecoming schedule. Generally, these events will not conflict with known Greek or other Homecoming events. Our tentative schedule is below.
Before we get to the schedule, we need to ask a favor. We are looking for your feedback, help spreading the word to other ROTC alumni, and we also need a few volunteers to help coordinate and make this reunion a success. Are you in?? If so, send us a note: Bob Hoelscher firstname.lastname@example.org or Bill Millard email@example.com.
First, we need help in contacting ROTC alumni from the different years and eras. We want to make this as inclusive as we can and really would like to have alumni from 1883 through last year participate. If you are interested in volunteering to lead the effort just or help find alumni, please let us know.

ROTC Alumni Fun Run with Cadets
6:00 - 7:00 a.m., Location TBA
Would you like to run with the cadets and inspire them or just enjoy some time with them? Let us know.
ROTC Reunion Icebreaker
5:00 p.m., Airport Restaurant and Gin Mill, 1129 Flight Line Boulevard
Our plan is to hold this event at The Airport Restaurant and Gin Mill. This venue provides an outside bar and seating area and serves a variety of foods including really good burgers. It's a great place for an icebreaker given we don't know how many alumni will attend. Dan Ingham, Class of 82, has volunteered to organize this. If you would like to assist him or RSVP, please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or (412) 979-1127.

Volusia County Veterans' Day Parade
10:30 a.m., downtown DeLand
This is an important event. Our presence is requested to celebrate generations of military service from Stetson Alumni & Veterans. We will march with the Stetson ROTC contingent. To be consistent with the ROTC cadets, we ask that Active Duty and Reserve Soldiers serving in any capacity wear ACUs (or other service equivalent). Veterans can wear any uniform that fits or not wear a uniform. It will provide us opportunities to share some camaraderie with the cadets and will probably leave us with memories for years to come. It may seem a little too much for some of the more humble amongst us, but we encourage your participation as much for the Veterans of the past as to inspire our cadets and fellow citizens. Perhaps we could set up a flag and take a picture all together at the ROTC building before the parade? Click here for a bit of info on last year's parade.
ROTC Tailgate Party
12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Spec Martin Football Stadium, Earl Brown Park
Now this one is tricky to be sure. Besides our beloved ROTC, we all have other organizations we are associated with. But in a lot of ways, this event could be precedent setting. Imagine coming back again and finding your friends from the Army all gathered around the grill, competing in some sort of barbecue antics and sharing a beer with yet another returning hero. Honestly, it could become a very important part of Stetson history. It won't take a lot, really - if everyone brings a six pack and a cooler with some meat/veggies for grilling. The hard part is scheduling the spot, making sure we all know where that is, and then everyone deciding this key point- we all should change back to civvies to avoid even the potential possibility of public intoxication in uniform (unless you are a veteran- in which case we just need to remember that we never leave a falling comrade). Considering it will be a long day, we should all remember to drink responsibly. We need a volunteer or two to organize this.
Homecoming Football Game: Stetson vs.Davidson
1:00 - 5:30 p.m., Spec Martin Football Stadium, Earl Brown Park
Not a lot of decisions to be made about this event. It is our Homecoming football game and we should attend. Besides, the university would like to recognize Veterans at some point during the game. (Note: We are working with Stetson for reserved tickets for our group - more later on this).
ROTC Alumni and Cadet Open House
7:30 - 9:00 p.m., Meadows Alumni House, 217 East Michigan Avenue
This is a simple, casual, and informal affair on campus. We will have some wine & hors d'oeuvres, start with some introductions, and then folks can depart for or drop in from other events and socialize. Current and former ROTC instructors, cadets and ROTC alumni are invited. Bring your old photos or send digital copies ahead of time and we can collect them and cycle them through on a projector. We will conduct this event at the Meadows Alumni House, 217 East Michigan Avenue. ROTC Alumni, you are invited to bring hors d'oeuvres. The ROTC leadership is ok with having cadets set up and clean up after the event. We need a volunteer to organize and manage this event.

ROTC Farewell Brunch
10:00 a.m., Spring Garden Restaurant, 900 Spring Garden Ranch Road, Deleon Springs
I suggest we all just have a rally point where those who are left say good-bye. Need a volunteer to set this up.
