Calendar for Accepted Students

Congratulations on your admission to Stetson University. Below, you will find a list helpful activities that will prepare you to join the Stetson community. Please expand each month for detailed information on important dates during that month.

January

Apply for Financial Aid

Start applying for financial aid on January 1.

Go to fafsa.gov to complete the FAFSA. Submit the FAFSA by February 15 to receive a one-time $1,000 Early Filer Grant. Don't forget to also fill out the CSS PROFILE by February 15 if you'd like to be considered for institutional, need-based aid.

Apply for the J. Ollie Edmunds Scholarship

The deadline to apply for this scholarship is January 17.

Learn more about the J. Ollie Edmunds Scholarship requirements for the application and apply by January 17 in order to be eligible for this full-ride scholarship.

Browse university and outside scholarships

Search for scholarships throughout the year. Most university scholarship applications are due by February 15.

Most university scholarship applications are due by February 15. While browsing the university scholarships, be sure to take a look at the outside scholarships students have won in the past, and browse through scholarship websites, like fastweb.com and scholarships.com.

Remember to complete the FAFSA for the early filer grant and the CSS PROFILE for consideration of additional institutional aid by February 15.

Sign up for an audition date: February 8, February 15, or February 22!

All students desiring to declare any music-related major or minor must first complete and pass an audition on their principal instrument as part of the admissions process.

February

Start submitting your enrollment forms

Start submitting your enrollment forms on February 1.

Housing, advising, meal plans and health forms will be available on the New Hatter Checklist for students who have submitted their enrollment deposit. The priority date for all checklist forms is May 30. If you are transferring to Stetson, speak to your admission recruiter for more information about the checklist.

Audition for the School of Music

February 8, February 15 or February 22

All students who'd like to declare any music-related major or minor must first complete and pass an audition on their principal instrument as part of the admissions process.

Register for an Open House or Shadow Stetson Visit

You should attend one of these events: February 15, March 22 or the Accepted Student Day on April 12.

Can't wait for Hatter Saturday? Visit campus during an Open Houses or shadow a current student on a Shadow Stetson Visit. You can even stay overnight with one of our students in a residence hall! Accepted student receptions will be held in select cities throughout March, check the locations on the accepted student reception website.

Apply for university scholarships and complete financial aid forms

You should have all of these forms completed and submitted by February 15.

Sign up for a Hatter Trek

Sign up between February and May 1. Spots are limited.

Hatter Treks welcome you to Stetson University by giving you an opportunity to make friends, meet faculty and set a vision for your first year! There are three Hatter Trek options: Orlando, Florida Keys, and an Outdoor Adventure in North Carolina. Spots are limited and are only available to committed students.

March

Attend an Accepted Student Reception

Accepted student receptions will be held throughout the month of March in select cities. Check the reception locations on the accepted student reception website.

Review your financial aid package

Review your financial aid package between March and May.

Access your My Stetson account with your Stetson University ID number to review your financial aid package. You will also receive a hard copy in the mail. Remember to complete the FAFSA to receive federal aid and the CSS PROFILE for consideration of additional institutional aid.

Sign up for Hatter Saturday

Registration will be open until April 11.

Register for Hatter Saturday on April 12 to meet fellow classmates and continue to complete your final steps for enrollment.

Commit to Stetson and become a New Hatter

Become a New Hatter by May 1!

You have until May 1 to submit your intent to enroll at Stetson University. However, if you've already decided to say "yes," why wait? Once you've submitted your enrollment deposit, you can begin working on the New Hatter Checklist.

April

Attend Hatter Saturday

Hatter Saturday takes place on April 12.

Tour the campus and residence halls, participate in a community engagement activity, meet current students and future classmates, and complete the New Hatter Checklist. Register Now.

Commit to Stetson and become a New Hatter

Become a New Hatter by May 1!

You have until May 1 to submit your intent to enroll at Stetson University. However, if you've already decided to say "yes," why wait? Once you've submitted your enrollment deposit, you can begin working on the New Hatter Checklist.

Sign in to your Stetson University email account

You should do this once you receive confirmation that your account has been set up.

Stetson University email accounts are available after you commit to enroll at Stetson University. A few days after you submit the intent to enroll form, you will receive an email to the email account on file with the admissions office with directions on how to access your Stetson account. Departments on campus will use this account to communicate with you.

Join Stetson's Admitted Student Group Chat

This group chat will take place on April 15.

Continue to complete the forms on the New Hatter Checklist

Work on this step between February and June.

Students who have submitted their enrollment deposit can complete forms on the New Hatter Checklist, including housing, advising, placement exams, health forms, etc.

Continue to meet new people on the private Facebook Application

You can join on as soon as you are accepted to Stetson

Stetson University offers a private Facebook application available only to accepted, enrolled and current students. Meet fellow classmates and ask questions to upperclassmen. You'll also be able to join the "Class of 2018" community once in the application.

May

Commit to Enroll at Stetson University

You must submit your intent to enroll by May 1.

May 1 is the National Reply date for all colleges to reserve your spot in the Class of 2018 at Stetson University. Transfer students may continue to speak with the admission recruiters about the opportunities at Stetson University. Stetson email accounts are available a few days after you submit your intent to enroll to Stetson and will be sent to your personal email account on file.

New Hatter Fast Track days are: May 24, June 6, June 14 and June 27.

Complete your personal data and advising form, placement exams, student success tutorials and other New Hatter forms before this event to register for classes and attend this hands-on opportunity to complete your enrollment. You'll be able to register for classes once you've completed the required documents. View events portal for details.

The priority date to complete the New Hatter Checklist is May 30.

June

Complete advising tasks and health forms

The regular date to have your advising tasks and health forms completed and submitted is June 13.

The regular deadline to complete advising tasks and health forms is June 13. This will allow you to begin registering for your fall 2014 courses. There are multiple deadlines to submit these forms and register for courses.

Attend a New Hatter Fast Track day

New Hatter Fast Track days are: June 6, June 14 and June 27.

Receive your term bill

Bills will be sent in mid-June.

Term bills will be sent via email to your Stetson University email account and will also be sent to the home address we have on file. Payments or payment plans are due by July 31. See payment plan options on the Office of Student Financial Planning's website under the "Payment Options" section.

Complete advising tasks and health forms

The final date to have your advising tasks and health forms completed and submitted is June 30.

July

Receive your term bill

A reminder bill will be sent via email in July.

Payments or payment plans are due by July 31. See payment plan options on the Office of Student Financial Planning's website under the "Payment Options" section.

Receive communication from your FOCUS orientation leader

Expect to hear from your FOCUS leader in mid July.

Your FOCUS leader(s) will help you transition to Stetson University during FOCUS Orientation. They will reach out to you either by email or phone as well as on the Stetson University Facebook application. Join the application in order to join a private FOCUS "meet-up" group and start talking about orientation.

Start working on MyStudentBody assessment

You should start working on your MyStudentBody assessment in mid July.

Information about the MyStudentBody course, as well as the password to log in to the course, will be sent to both your personal and Stetson University email addresses in late July. This is an interactive, fun and personalized health and wellness tool.

Pay your term bill or set up a payment plan

You must have either paid your term bill or set up a payment plan by the end of July.

The payment date will be displayed on your bill. Please contact the Office of the Bursar with further questions at bursar@stetson.edu or 386-822-7050.

Receive your housing assignment and roommate information

Your housing assignment and roommate information will be sent out in late July.

Your housing assignment will be sent to your Stetson University email account.

August

Submit your final official transcript

Submit your final official transcript by August 1.

Submit your final official transcript by July 1. This document must include certification of any degrees or diplomas, as well as final grades for courses in progress at the time of your admission. Send it to the Office of Admissions at:

Complete your MyStudentBody assessment

The deadline to complete your MyStudentBody assessment is August 8.

International Move-in and Orientation

New international students can move in to residence halls on August 11.  International orientation will happen from August 12 to August 15.

International students should attend International Orientation to explore the area and prepare for FOCUS Orientation. Free shuttles from the airport to campus will be provided by WORLD: International Learning on August 11 for international students. Sign up for the shuttle service through your VIP page or email during the summer.

Move into your campus residence hall (residential students only)

Move-in day and the first day of FOCUS Orientation is August 16!

FOCUS Orientation (all new and transfer students)

FOCUS Orientation will happen from August 16 to August 20.

FOCUS Orientation is a five-day comprehensive orientation program designed to help new and transfer students have a successful transition to life at Stetson University. All first-year students and transfers with less than 24 credit hours will begin the First Year Seminar during FOCUS Orientation.
