Associate Director of Advising

Zonovia Proctor

Zonovia is originally from Freeport, Bahamas. Zonovia earned her M.S. in Transformative Leadership, following a B.A. in Music Technology from Bethune-Cookman University. Prior to joining Stetson, she served as the Director of Academic Initiatives at Bethune-Cookman, overseeing the Honors Program as well as various aspects of advising including (but not limited to) assisting in the leadership of a team of advisors and developing and facilitating assessment and recognition efforts of advising. While at Bethune-Cookman, Zonovia also served as a faculty member in the Freshman College and worked directly with first year, undecided and other at-risk student populations.

Coordinator of First-Year Advising

Miguel Ortiz Burgos

Miguel is a proud Stetson Hatter who is passionate about assisting First-Year student’s transition to the college setting. Miguel most recently worked as a full time Academic Advisor at Daytona State College with specific assignment to First-Year and Minority Male students. He also has multiple experiences in other areas of higher education during his time as a student employee at Stetson University and as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Central Florida. Currently, he is enrolled in the Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Higher Education Policy at the University of Central Florida and received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2016 from Stetson University.

Laura Glanger

Laura Glander

Laura Glander has been at Stetson for nearly 20 years as administrative support staff in the Provost’s Office, the Physics Department, and now full time in the Creative Arts Department. She has been a part of the Summer Advising Team for the past five years. A graduate of a small, private, liberal arts college herself, working with students has always her favorite aspect of working at Stetson and she is passionate about her role as an advising specialist.

Mary Bernard

Mary Bernard graduated from Stetson University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and French Literature. She is passionate about working with students and faculty to ensure that Stetson provides an unrivaled undergraduate experience. In her spare time, Mary enjoys reading comic books, drawing, gardening, and lifting weights.

Matt Musser

Matt Musser

Matt graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in history. He then took a few years off to work as a professional chef, before earning his master's degree from GVSU in Higher Education and Leadership. Matt's strong desire to help students be successful comes from learning as a college student how important tutors, academic advisors, and other academic success initiatives can be in a student's development. Now as the coordinator at Stetson, Matt works to advocate for, educate, and assist students. In his free time, Matt likes to cook, read, write, run, play video games and the occasional Netflix binge.

Roxanne Lewis

Roxanne Lewis

Roxanne comes to WORLD: The David and Leighan Rinker Center for International Learning from Stetson University's Student Success Center, where she was a student success specialist. She has 15 years of experience in student success, having worked in grant-funded education programs through the U.S. Department of Education. She has extensive experience working with diverse populations of students.

Sharniece Supal

Sharniece Supal

Sharniece earned her Bachelors of Science in Sports Management at University of North Florida while also a D1 Track and Field student-athlete. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Athletic Administration. Sharniece oversees study hall, tutoring and other academic resources that are available to all student-athletes. She believes in empowering and motivating student-athletes to be successful and strive not only towards raduation but to post-graduate plans as well. In Sharniece’s free time, she enjoys reading, working out, spending time with loved ones and traveling.

Terri Richards

Terri Richards

Terri was born in Ansted, West Virginia, the 7th of 8 children. Terri has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren that keep her here in Florida although she prefers the cold weather. Terri has been at Stetson for 25 years, and has graduated with her BA in Social Science with a minor in English and Environmental Science in 2002. Most of her time here at Stetson, Terri has worked in the Registrar's Office focusing on transfer students who come to Stetson with 24 or more credits. Terri is extremely well versed in all academic related issues at Stetson and is excited to help all students if needed.

Winona Squires

Winona Squires

Winona graduated from Florida State University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Family and Child Sciences and a minor in Psychology as well as Sociology. She is now pursuing her master's degree in marriage, couple's, and family counseling here at Stetson. Winona specifically assists with our success coach program, where she works with students to enhance their academic skills and overall well-being in order to reach their fullest potential. She also oversees our peer success coach program, a group of student leaders who work one-on-one with other students on overarching academic skills. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running, and going to the beach with friends.
