Resources for Students: Tutoring at Stetson
As part of the Academic Success Center, Tutoring at Stetson University empowers peer tutors with the skills to share their content-area knowledge and guide peers toward independent academic achievement.
Tutoring is provided to currently enrolled Stetson students free of charge. Most tutoring sites offer walk-in service, with some sites also offering students the ability to schedule an appointment. Students can meet with a tutor to review principles, learn content-specific study strategies, and enhance content area knowledge.

Speaking Center
The Department of Communication and Media Studies is now offering tutoring in presentation skills for students across the university. Tutors can assist students in learning how to prepare more effectively for presentations, including outlining and speech writing, visual aid design and integration, and delivery.
Students should be sure to bring the guidelines for the presentation assignment with them, as well as any materials they are in the process of preparing (outline or notecards, PowerPoint slides, and the like). Video equipment is available for students to record their presentations and then watch them with a tutor in order to get feedback and suggestions on specific aspects of delivery. (Or students can bring a recording of a previous presentation to the center to watch with a tutor for feedback on how to improve in future presentations.)
