Stacy Collins
Director of the Academic Success Center
Stacy Collins began her journey with Stetson by attending for both her Bachelors and Masters of Arts degrees; she continues to be proud to be a Hatter in her position as Director of the Academic Success Center. In this position she leads the department in offering various initiatives to ensure student success, with more programs and opportunities coming every day. Ultimately Stacy and the ASC team strive to help students enhance their empowerment and agency, practice self-advocacy, learn independent academic competency, reach their educational goals while at Stetson, and graduate proudly with a Stetson University degree.

April Thompson
Assistant Director, Accessibility Coordinator
April Thompson joins Stetson University as the Assistant Director of the Academic Success Center and the Accessibility Coordinator. With both her Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees, April uses her background in vocational & career counseling, social justice, diversity/inclusion, and serving individuals with disabilities to assist students in having meaningful and significant enrichment at Stetson University. She is proud of continuously affirming the value of encouraging others to enrich themselves, to then empower the world around them. In her roles at the ASC, April aspires to help all students dare to be significant. In her spare time, she is an aficionada of comic books, theology, and traveling with her husband.

Kevin Miller
Academic Success Coordinator
Kevin graduated in December 2009 from Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and in May of 2012 from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a Master's degree in Student Affairs. In his free time, Kevin enjoys reading, watching and talking about television, board games, and anything else that could remotely be considered 'nerdy'.

Jesse Tucker
Academic Success Coordinator
Jesse, a former student-athlete at Stetson University, graduated in the spring of 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education. The following fall she began pursuing her Master's of Education in Reading while working in the Academic Success Center as an Academic Success Counselor. in the fall of 2012 she was hired full-time by the ASC to be an Academic Success Coordinator. Jesse enjoys relaxing at the beach, spending time with her friends and collectiong sneakers.

Sam Slaughter
Academic Success Counselor
Sam graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a degree in English/Creative Writing and Anthropology in 2009. In the next few years, he lived and worked in Montana, New Jersey (his home) and New Hampshire--as a graduate student, newspaper reporter and finally fourth grade teacher through the City Year program. Currently, he is enrolled as an MA candidate in the English department. He is at work on his thesis about the literary history of mead, honey wine. In his free time he runs, volunteers at two animal shelters, writes for the Stetson Reporter. He is an avid fan of food and cooks whenever he can.

Alyssa Lindsley
Academic Success Counselor
Alyssa Thompson is a 2012 graduate from Stetson University, where she received her BBA in Accounting. Currently working on her Master of Accounting degree also at Stetson, Alyssa joined the ASC team in January 2013. Alyssa is involved with Beta Alpha Psy, the accounting honor society, and also PEO International, which promotes educational opportunities for women. Alyssa is an avid outdoorswoman and loves spending time in the woods or on the water.
