Faculty in the department are committed to providing experiential scientific training in a traditional liberal arts environment in which the primary focus is extensive interaction with undergraduate students in a small class size environment. Our facilities include state-of-the-art introductory-level equipment and advanced equipment such as an Atomic Force Microscope (A.F.M.), Scanning Tunneling Microscope (S.T.M.), a U.H.V. L.E.E.D. system, a TV holography system, multiple optical tables, a small radio telescope and multiple small optical telescopes.
