If you are interested in music, but plan to use it in another discipline, consider majoring in Music with elective studies in an outside field. This diverse and competitive program will allow you to combine your study of Music with courses in such areas as Communication Studies, Pre-Law, Pre-Med, English, Digital Arts, Theatre Arts, Psychology, or any of many other areas of study offered by Stetson.

Faculty
Music School faculty members are all performing artists with expertise in the fields of Performance, Music Education, Theory and Composition, or Music Technology. College of Arts and Sciences and Business School faculty members are experts in their respective fields of study including Journalism, Literary Criticism, Psychology, Political Science, Finance, Marketing, and Business Law.

Special Features
This program gives you the extraordinary opportunity of combining a conservatory music education with the benefits of a liberal arts education. You will be able to tailor a program to your specific needs, with the help of a music advisor.

The School of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and offers its students a 6-1 student-faculty ratio, an international faculty, state of the art facilities, and the chance to play in award winning ensembles.

The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

The College of Arts and Sciences offers 52 academic majors and 40 minors. Its academic excellence gave Stetson the distinction of being the first private university in Florida to be granted a chapter of the undergraduate honorary Phi Beta Kappa -- and we remain one of only 255 liberal arts colleges so honored.

Course Information
Course Requirements are drawn from both the School of Music and the program you choose within either the College of Arts and Sciences or the School of Business Administration.

Career Opportunities
This combined program allows you to prepare for a music related career; for example, performing arts management if your Music study is combined with Business, music therapy if it is combined with Psychology, church music if it is combined with Religious Studies, or musical theatre if it is combined with Theatre Arts. You may also use this program to prepare for graduate studies in Music, Law, Medicine, and many other fields.
