 Quick Facts

Location
The DeLand campus, just 25 miles from Daytona Beach and 35 miles from Orlando, is home to the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, and School of Music. The College of Law is located in St. Petersburg/Gulfport, the Stetson University Center at Celebration is near Orlando, and our new downtown Tampa Law Center and campus opened in 2004.

History
Our 165-acre DeLand campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and our turn-of-the-century buildings have been modernized and updated without losing their charm. The latest addition to campus is the $12.7 million renovated and expanded Lynn Business Center - Florida's first Green building certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Faculty
Stetson's 195 full-time faculty members, 95 percent of whom hold Ph.D. or equivalent degrees, teach all undergraduate classes. Our student/faculty ratio is 12-to-1.

Student Body
Our more than 2,200 undergraduates come from 41 states and more than 41 foreign countries. Fifty-seven percent of our students are female and 43 percent are male.

Degrees
There are more than 60 majors and minors leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Music, or Bachelor of Business Administration degrees. Master's degrees are offered by the School of Business Administration in accounting and business administration and the College of Arts and Sciences in education, English, and counseling. The Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in International Law and Business are offered by the College of Law, which guarantees admission to Stetson undergraduates who meet challenging academic requirements. A joint Juris Doctor-Master of Business Administration (JD-MBA) program with the School of Business Administration allows students to earn both degrees in a shorter time than would otherwise be required.

Study Abroad
Stetson University offers study abroad programs in Spain, France, Germany, Mexico, England (Nottingham and Oxford), Russia, and China, as well as a Washington, D.C., semester and the Summer Business Program in Innsbruck, Austria.

Athletics
Stetson is a member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference and offers a variety of intercollegiate sports, including men's baseball, women's softball, and men and women's basketball, tennis, golf, crew, cross country, and soccer. Junior varsity opportunities are available in baseball, crew, tennis, and golf.

Student Life
Stetson is home to more than 100 student organizations, including service and special interest groups, student government, and 17 scholastic and honorary societies (including Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Phi Beta Kappa, and Alpha Kappa Psi). There are seven Greek national fraternities and six national sororities.

Admission
The academic criteria include a challenging high school curriculum. In 2004, the incoming freshman class had an average 3.69 GPA, was in the middle 50 percent SAT range of 1030-1240, and middle 50 percent ACT range of 21-27.
