Religiina Pravda, 18 April 2021
A fire broke out around 9:00 p.m. in the church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Bagovitsa in the Kamenets-Podolskyi district of Khmelnitskyi oblast on 16 April.
This is reported by the Dukhovnyi Front of Ukraine.
At the time of the arrival of the first fire brigade, flame had already completely engulfed the church building and an area of almost 180 square meters was burning, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports. The rapid spread of the flame was facilitated by the delay in reporting, the wooden construction of the building, and the substantial distance from the residential neighborhood (15 kilometers).
The flame completely destroyed the wooden building of the church. According to preliminary information, the suspected cause of the blaze is arson.
According to information from the YouControl service, the religious parish of the church of the Nativity of the Mother of God belongs to the so-called "Ukrainian Orthodox Church" (the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine). (tr. by PDS, posted 18 April 2021)
