UPTsKP EXPECTS DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT CHARTER OF NEW CHURCH FROM CONSTANTINOPLE
The UPTsKP commented on the decision of the Synod of the ecumenical patriarchate, which yesterday, 29 November, came to an end in Constantinople.
As the press center reports, the Kiev patriarchate, in accordance with agreement reached previously, is waiting to receive officially detailed information about the decisions made by the Synod, including about the charter of the church that was prepared.
"The Kiev patriarchate expresses the hope that by the joint efforts of all parties involved in the process the preparatory work will soon be successfully completed and the council will gather and make the necessary decisions on unification, the selection of the primate of the church, and the approval of the charter. After this, according to the decisions earlier announced by the ecumenical patriarchate, the tomos concerning autocephaly will be delivered to the primate of the church," the UPTsKP's commentary says.
As RISU was informed, the Synod of the ecumenical patriarchate prepared a draft of the charter of the Ukrainian church.
According to the exarch of the Constantinople patriarchate in Ukraine, Vladyka Daniel, the proposed draft of the charter is based on the tomos concerning autocephaly. (tr. by PDS, posted 30 November 2018)
