UNIFICATION COUNCIL OF ORTHODOX CHURCH IN UKRAINE TO BE HELD IN DECEMBER—ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE
A report that the unification council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be held in December appeared on the official website of the ecumenical patriarchate.
The report says: "In the course of preparing the assembly of the Holy and Sacred Synod on 27-29 November 2018, the Constantinople ecumenical patriarchate again confirms its sacred decision about granting a tomos of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
While the process of preparation for a Holy Council of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine is continuing, a specific date (of its convocation—ed.) during December 2018 will be presented for confirmation and announcement by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the ecumenical patriarchate.
Thus, on 27-29 November one should expect an official announcement by Constantinople of the date of convening the unification council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. (tr. by PDS, posted 20 November 2018)
