METROPOLITAN OF GAUL EMMANUEL ARRIVES IN KIEV TO HEAD UNIFICATION COUNCIL OF AUTOCEPHALOUS UKRAINIAN CHURCH
Metropolitan of Gaul Emmanuel of the Constantinople patriarchate, who, according to preliminary information, will head the unification council of the united local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, arrived in Kiev on 15 November, UNN reports.
Provisionally, the council is scheduled for 22 November.
Earlier the former press secretary of the primate of the UPTsMP, Archpriest Georgy Kovalenko, also declared that the unification council, at which the issue of the creation of an autocephalous UPTs, should be held on 22 November.
On its part, the Kiev patriarchate stated that the date of the unification council has still not been determined. (tr. by PDS, posted 16 November 2018)
