Two more criminal cases were opened against a 20-year-old resident of Skopin, who desecrated buildings of the city and district administrations in April and also a cemetery on the territory of the church of St. Nicholas and the entrance to the church building. This was reported on the website of the MVD directorate of Russia for Riazan oblast.
In the spring, during his arrest, the young man put up resistance, spraying a police officer in the face from a spray can. A metal hammer and gloves were found in his backpack and pepper spray and a folding knife in his pockets.
At the time, a criminal case was opened against the detainee on the basis of part 1 of article 244 of the CC of RF ("Abuse of bodies of the dead or destruction, damage, or desecration of places of burial, grave stones, or cemetery buildings) and part 1 of article 282 of the CC of RF ("Inciting hatred or hostility").
Another two criminal cases were opened after the results of a linguistic expert analysis of notes left by the young man on pages of a Bible were revealed. Now he is also accused of vandalism as well as "offending the feelings of believers." (tr. by PDS, posted 7 November 2018)
