Babr24.com Bratsk, 30 October 2018

A branch of the religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Bratsk illegally donated a building and lot to Jehovah's Witnesses from Austria, in order to avoid confiscation.

It is known that members of the congregation illegally concluded a donation agreement for export of the property abroad. As a result of an inspection, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to find the document invalid.

The Padun district court originally returned the petition, citing violation of the principle of jurisdiction. Then this decision was appealed. Now the prosecutor's lawsuit has been accepted for consideration by the Padun district court.

On 20 April 2017, the Russian Jehovah's Witnesses were ruled to be an extremist organization. By decision of the Russian Supreme Court, the religious organization "Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia" and components of its structure were liquidated and remaining property was converted to state ownership.
