MINISTRY OF JUSTICE WANTS TO REDUCE LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION OF RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
The Russian Ministry of Justice has worked out a draft law providing for a shortening of the list of documents that are presented for state registration of religious organizations, an announcement of the ministry says.
A notification about the start of developing amendments to the federal law "On freedom of conscience and religious associations" was posted on the portal of drafts of normative legal acts.
Besides shortening the list of documents, it is planned to bring terminology used in the law into correspondence with the Civil Code of the RF.
It also specifies the obligation of the Ministry of Justice and its territorial agencies to request copies of the charters of the founders necessary for state registration for the agency that makes the decision about their state registration and also establishes the requirements of form, contents, and deadlines for notification of the continuation of the activity of a religious group.
Besides this, it is planned to provide the right of religious educational organizations to conduct certification and to conduct the retraining and elevation of the qualifications of clergy and religious personnel who receive religious education in foreign educational organizations and who intend to conduct religious or preaching activity on the territory of the Russian Federation.
