IN OREL YET ANOTHER JEHOVAH'S WITNESS WINDS UP IN CRIMINAL CASE
Orlovskie Novosti, 6 June 2018
Investigation of the criminal case regarding 55-year-old Sergei Skrinnikov of Orel has been completed. He is charged with organizing the activity of the forbidden religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses of Orel, Orlovskie Novosti has learned from its own sources.
Skrinnikov was brought in as a defendant and questioned on 8 May. On the same day, a search was conducted in his home. As ON sources have noted, some of the evidence in his case, for example, linguistic, religious studies, and computer expert analyses, were picked out from the case of the Dane Dennis Christensen, who is being charged in Orel under the same article.
Adherents of the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses themselves declare that Skrinnikov never was a member of the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses of Orel, and he did not participate in its activity. At present he is under a pledge not to depart [i.e. in lieu of bail—tr.].
The trial of the case of Dennis Christensen is continuing today. (tr. by PDS, posted 6 June 2018)
