RUSSIAN WOMAN WITH THREE CHILDREN FLEES TO UKRAINE BECAUSE OF RELIGIOUS PERECUTION IN MOTHERLAND
A Russian woman with three children requested refugee status in Ukraine because of persecution in the RF. This was reported by the press center of the State Border Service.
"During border control at the Senkovka checkpoint a woman, who arrived with children, who were born in 2005, 2007, and 2009, asked border officials of the Chernigov detachment for granting her the status of refugee. The woman reported that on the territory of the RF she is being persecuted for religious reasons," the report says.
As noted, the border officials allowed the citizen of the RF onto the territory of Ukraine and informed the State Migration Service.
It was reported earlier that they have begun arresting Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia. Back in the past year, this organization was entered into the list of public and religious associations whose activity is suspended in the RF because of their extremism.
We recall that on 1 January 2018, a system of identification by biometric data was begun for citizens of 71 countries. But back on 27 December, Ukraine launched a test program of biocontrol on the border with Russia. We note that biocontrol on the administrative border with Crimea, which is occupied by Russia, does not apply to citizens of Ukraine who live on the peninsula. (tr. by PDS, posted 30 May 2018)
