MISSIONARY

On
the basis of
the results of a verification of compliance with the
requirements of
legislation on combating extremist activity, the Buguruslan
district
prosecutor's office opened a case regarding the administrative
violation of law
provided in part 4 of article 5.26 of the Code on Administrative
Violations of
Law of the RF (conducting missionary activity in violation of
the requirements
of legislation on freedom of conscience and religious confession
and on
religious associations) against residents of Samara oblast.
It
was established
that in November 2017 in the center of Buguruslan [Orenburg
oblast] the men, who did not have the
decision of a general meeting of members of a religious group,
were
distributing religious literature to passers-by with the goal of
drawing them
into a religious group.
On
the basis of
the results of consideration of the administrative cases, a
magistrate judge
found the members of the religious association guilty of
committing the
aforementioned administrative violation of law. Each was
assigned a fine of
5,000 rubles.
