The guide, intended for employees of agencies of executive authority and law enforcement agencies, also contains information about the main traditional religions of the peoples of Russia, as well as minor and relatively new religious confessions.
The guide includes information about the centralized religious organizations, including their contact information and recommendations for relations of bodies of executive authority and agencies of law enforcement with religious associations in the sphere of combating religious extremism and other antisocial religious activity.
Substantial attention is devoted to critical issues of state legislation regarding religion, including the latest changes that took effect with the adoption of amendments in the federal law "On combating terrorism," the Criminal Code of the Russian federation, the Criminal Procedural Code of the Russian federation, and individual legislative acts for the purpose of establishing additional measures of combating terrorism and ensuring public security.
The guide was developed jointly with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice.
In the near future there also will be issued methodological recommendations about the procedure for construction of houses of worship and coordination with the population, concerned bodies of authority, and religious organizations. (tr. by PDS, posted 30 November 2016)
