PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE IN MURMANSK PROVINCE CHALLENGES JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES' CHARTERS
Murmanskii Vestnik, 19 October 2016
An inspection by the Murmansk prosecutor's office monitoring compliance with the laws on especially sensitive sites showed that the charters of the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses of the city of Polyarny and the "Snezhnogorsk" local religious organization do not conform to the legislation of the Russian federation and do not contain required information established by the Russian federal law "On freedom of conscience and religious associations."
On the basis of the violations that were revealed, the Murmansk prosecutor monitoring compliance with the laws on especially sensitive sites issued challenges against the charters of the religious organizations. The challenges are under review. (tr. by PDS, posted 20 October 2016)
