BN 301 Team Project
300 points x 2 = 600

Overview: You are now part of a team that will present two chapters from the Gillis text to your classmates. In some cases, the team personnel differs between the 1st chapter you are presentinng and the 2nd.

Your team project is to develop and deliver to the class a comprehensive presentation that illuminates your assigned chapters to the rest of the class.

Presentation: Your team can choose virtually any format you want (within reason) to present your chapters. You can also use a combination.

  • Multimedia (e.g., PowerPoint presentation, or Web page[s])
  • Debate or panel format.
  • Talk-show format.
  • Game-show format.
  • Skit(s)
  • interactive/audience participation approach
  • Simulation.
  • Audio presentation.
  • Video presentation.
  • Role plays.
  • Something else (be creative)
Presentations will be 45 minutes long. Given the length of the presentations, you may want to consider bringing material in that goes beyond the textbook content on your topic. Those who enjoyed the Annette Simmons book or felt they should have the opportunity to capitalize on having read some of it might consider bringing that into your presentation.

Not every member of your group needs to present. Some members can have behind-the-scenes roles if they are weak or timid presenters.

Grading Criteria:
Presentations will be graded on:

  • Creativity and ability engage the audience's interest: What level of audience interest does the presentation maintain?
  • Presentation skills
  • Comprehensivesness of content: Does it cover the main points of the chapter well and help teach classmates what they need to now about the topic? What does the presentation add to the class’s learning
  • Individual contribution: 25 points of each student's chapter presentation (x 2 presentations) comes from how you rate yourself and you team members. See below:

Assessment of Team Members' Individual Contribution to Team Project: Each member of your team must also submit the form Assessment of Team Members' Individual Contribution to Team Project on or before the last day of class. The form is at http://www.stetson.edu/~khansen/Passport/group_assess.html and should be submitted online. The form enables you to evaluate the contribution of each group member, including yourself, to the group project, and you cannot receive your group grade without submitting this form and including yourself on it.
