Betty
Drees JohnsonAs Director of the duPont-Ball Library at Stetson University,
I have the honor of working with a very talented and dedicated team of library
faculty and staff. I work closely with
Associate Director Susan M. Ryan
and Head of Technical Services Debbi Dinkins.
We have been promoting the Stetson University Library Associates, a
fairly new group of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who support the
Library's goals and objectives to optimize services and materials for our
students.
I have been active in the Florida
Library Association, serving on the Board several times and as President
2001/02. FLA is a very proactive
organization promoting libraries of all types and the interests of librarians
and library staff and volunteers. I
currently serve on the Florida Library Network Council and serve as chair and
fiscal agent for the ICUF (Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida)
Libraries Group. I was elected to the
Board of Directors of the Central Florida Library Cooperative in the fall of
2006.
I received my MLS from Columbia University in 1964 and my M.A. in History
(1962) and B.A. in History with a Spanish minor (1959) from Stetson University.
Non-professional interests include travel and antiques. I have served on the Boards of the DeLand
Cultural Arts Center and the DeLand Museum of Art.
A member of the League of Women Voters for decades, I recently agreed to
join the Board of the League of Women Voters of
Volusia County. I serve as the
webmaster for this organization.
